Statement from the Provost on the election of Oxford’s new Chancellor

I extend congratulations on behalf of all at Oriel College to Lord Hague on his election as Oxford’s next Chancellor. William has exactly the right qualities for the role — an international reputation, a great intellect as well as commercial acumen. Oxford University has just been ranked as the world’s best university for the ninth year in a row. I know that he will help keep the university at the forefront of technology and research.
