Orielenses are welcome to book a room in College in Magpie Lane (subject to availability).
Magpie Lane House is a compact, 14th century cottage which has been sympathetically refurbished and modernised while retaining its original cosy atmosphere. The house has two double ensuite (shower room and toilet) bedrooms and one small but well-appointed flat comprising a double bedroom, sitting room, kitchen, and shower room with toilet.
All rooms are provided with towels, toiletries, hairdryers, and tea/coffee making facilities.
Accessibility
Please be aware that only Room 1 in Magpie Lane House is on the ground floor. As expected in a house of this age the staircase is steep and narrow, and we ask that guests take care when ascending and descending.

Alumni wishing to book a room in Magpie Lane should contact development.office@oriel.ox.ac.uk. Please include:
- confirmation that you will be the guest staying – this benefit is reserved for Orielenses when they stay at College.
- the exact dates of your requested stay.
- your current address and phone number for registration purposes.
- your matriculation year and/or alumni number.
Please note that only one of the ensuite bedrooms is available at a discounted rate for Alumni, and this offer is only available during term time. If you would like to book the other ensuite bedroom or the flat, you must do so via the University Rooms website.
