Legacy gifts large and small help to ensure the future of Oriel by:
- Endowing Fellowships that protect the unique tutorial system
- Establishing bursaries and scholarships to support talented students
- Preserving and renovating our ancient buildings to create new teaching and social spaces that enable students and academics to flourish
If you are considering making a provision for Oriel in your will, please contact the team for a confidential conversation.
Oriel is a registered charity, and as such gifts left to the College in your will are completely free of inheritance tax. The government provides a further incentive: since April 2012, when you leave at least 10% of your net estate to charity, the inheritance tax rate is discounted from 40% to 36%.
Adam de Brome Society
Those who have generously stated their intention to leave a gift to Oriel in their Will are welcomed into the Adam de Brome Society.
In recognition of their generosity, Society members are invited to an annual gathering in College and will receive an Adam de Brome tie or silk scarf which we encourage you to wear with pride.
Members’ names are also published in the Oriel Record, although wishes for anonymity will of course be respected.
