Supporting World-Class Teaching
Teaching is at the heart of Oriel’s mission and Oxford’s exceptional tutorial system produces outstanding graduates. Tutorial teaching is a central part of the College experience, but it is expensive and the costs are not covered by the tuition fees we recieve, meaning this system is under threat. The College depends on philanthropic support to protect this unique approach to learning and teaching for future generations.
The College’s Fellows are leading academics whose teaching and research creates a vibrant and collaborative intellectual community. Vital funding from our giving society members enables Oriel to recruit and retain the very best Fellows, by supporting their research.

Conserving Oriel’s ancient buildings and refurbishing facilities to serve the learning and social needs of today’s community are key priorities.
