Over the last few years, we’ve hosted successful Oriel in the City events across the world, but for the anniversary, we want to take it even further…
In our 700th year, it is vital to us that Orielenses from across the globe join together as one community. Between 16 – 30 September 2026, we’re asking Orielenses to organise an informal alumni gathering in your area. We can also support alumni who wish to organise an event outside these dates.
As a host…
This involves organising a local venue — whether that’s as generous as opening up your home, or as simple as booking a table at a pub, restaurant, or bar; a space at your offices or club. On the day, you’ll be our on-the-ground contact and a friendly ambassador for the College. Most importantly, you’ll have the chance to connect with fellow alumni nearby and help strengthen the Oriel community where you are.
How we’ll support you…
We’ll be able to let you know how many Orielenses reside near to you, to help you plan accordingly. Once the date is confirmed and venue booked, we’ll handle the publicity, attendee bookings, and manage the numbers, keeping you up to date and in the loop right up until the event. You’ll also receive some event materials in the post, to give your event a distinctly college feel.
