Oriel Environment Group Trinity 2025 Lecture

The Oriel Environment Group’s Trinity term talk will be given by Ernest Akinlola, MD/CEO of Bboxx Nigeria, on Thursday 15 May from 5.15-6,15pm in the Owen Walker Room. After the talk there will be drinks held in the High Street Building foyer, with a chance to talk to our speaker further.

Ernest will be speaking on: “Powering Progress: Unlocking Renewable Energy Potential in Nigeria and Africa”

The lecture explores the renewable energy landscape in Africa, with a focus on Nigeria (Africa’s most populous country), highlighting current efforts, opportunities, and the challenges of scaling solar energy solutions. It will also delve into overcoming these challenges through policy, global organizations like the World Bank, advocacy, and academic contributions, supported by practical experiences from deploying renewable energy in Nigeria.
