There will be an MA Ceremony in at Oriel and the University Church on Saturday, 7 May 2022 for all those who are eligible for an Oxford MA.
In Oxford (as in Cambridge), the status of Master of Arts is a mark of seniority within the University which may be conferred 21 terms after matriculation. Please note the Oxford MA is about reaching a new status within the University and not an upgrade of your BA or an additional qualification.
In order to release your MA certificate for presentation at the ceremony, you are required to graduate in absentia at a University of Oxford degree ceremony. MA graduations at the University of Oxford incur a £40 charge. We will send you the link for payment when your booking is completed. You will also have to hire an MA gown, hood and mortarboard, which can be arranged through College – further details will be given when your booking is made.
The ceremony is free of charge to attend and you are welcome to bring two guests with you. The day will begin at 9.30am with tea and coffee at College, procession over to the University Church will begin at 10.05am. Afterwards there will an optional afternoon tea in College from 11.15am which is free for you to attend and priced at £16 a head for your guests.
