Adam de Brome Lunch 2025

Members of the Adam de Brome Society and their guests arrived in the morning and attended presentations from the Treasurer, Margaret Jones, and the Director of Development, Marco Zhang, at Oriel College.

They then listened to a talk by Ben Ford, Senior Project Manager at Oxford Archaeology, about the discovery of the original eastern defensive line of the late-Saxon town of Oxford deep below the kitchens at Oriel College.

The attendees had lunch in the Senior Library in the afternoon.

At the end of lunch, the Provost called attention to the room and toasted “Our King, our Visitor”. He also introduced John Cook (1965), the Adam de Brome Fellow, who made a speech to the Society members and guests present.

Cook concluded his speech by toasting “Floreat Oriel!” The Provost then also made a speech about recent activities at the college.

The Adam de Brome Society is open to everyone who has stated an intention to leave a gift to Oriel College in their will.

Anyone considering making a provision for Oriel in their will can contact Emma Davis, Legacies Officer, for a confidential conversation.
